Taronga Zoo 100th Birthday Celebrations

On Friday the 7th October 2016 five of our members displayed their cars outside the main entrance to the Zoo as part of the celebrations to mark the Zoo's 100 years at the site.

Whilst the Zoo dates back to around 1884, it was previously located at a site known as 'Billy Goat Swamp' within the Moore Park area. In 1916 the Zoo opened at its current location where it has grown to the amazing facility it is today.

Our cars, with many of the occupants dressed in period costume helped to set the scene as to what it might have been like visiting the Zoo in 1916.
