Sydney North Breakfast Run - Brooklyn Sunday 07/03/2021

Brooklyn Park proved to be a really nice venue for our first Sydney North Breakfast Run for 2021. Just a couple of km's off the Pacific Hwy or Pacific Motorway for that matter it is pretty much at the northern point of 'Sydney'. For those of us travelling from the Central Coast it was a little bit further, but once we left the M1 at Calga there was very little traffic headed south. There were quite a few bikes, of both the push and motor variety heading north and a few other cars but overall the road was pretty quiet.

There were a few clouds about, but it was otherwise a great day to be out in the veteran. We had a good rollup with seven veterans and altogether about 26 people. Quite a few of our group went for a stroll along the boardwalk into the tidal estuary where they saw a few small crabs in the mud flats but none of the other forms of wildlife that featured on the information board at the start of the walk.

With most of the group having arrived by not long after 9.00am, by about 11.00 the general consensus was to head for home. Those of us from the north stuck to the Pacific Hwy through Peats Ridge before joining the very busy M1 at Somersby.

Hopefully the easing of COVID restrictions and some more good weather will see some more similarly successful runs this year.

Whilst it was the first time we had used this venue, there is a good chance we'll use it again in the next year or two.
