Hello everyone!
Welcome to the first of our virtual coffee runs. The purpose of trialling this new forum is to keep our members active.
Please feel free to share what you and your family have been up to during the past few weeks, any progress you've made on your cars, or any other news you'd like to add. If you want to know more about using the forum, I've added a "How to use the forum" thread that can be found on the main forum page. Or, if you need any more help, please send me an email at abbeypnewman@gmail.com and I can give you a hand.
Stay safe & we are looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi everyone,
Hopefully some of you with time on your hands can use this new addition to our website to communicate with other club members. Hopefully we will get some photo's or stories of what people might be doing to their vehicles. It's a good time to do some of those little jobs you have been putting off for a while.
Whilst it's not directly car related, yesterday I actually made some proper repairs to the back wall of our shed that was damaged in the June 2007 storms when the neighbours trampoline made it over the six foot back fence into the corner of the shed. I made a temporary repair at the time and have been putting it off ever since.
I am also hoping to do some upholstery work over the Easter weekend when I will have a few days off work.
Stay safe everyone.
Abbey and I will also be working on trying to add some more old photo's and stories to the website, but as always, any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,
Firstly it would be great if a few of you people who have logged in, shared a few thoughts with us.
I thought I would add these couple of photo's that I'm sure many of you would have seen in the January/February edition of 'The Open Road' magazine published by the NRMA.
Does anybody know what the two vehicles are?
In the photo at Avalon Beach I am interested in the truck, which I thought could be a veteran - any ideas?
I thought there was some chance the roadster may be an Adler - mind you there is every chance it isn't.
I think the motor bus is from Bottle's Motor Service, the full image and clearer photo is online at https://digital.sl.nsw.gov.au/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=FL3810478&dps_func=stream
And another view of what could be the same/similar bus online at

Could it be a FIAT, in 1914 Mr H C Bottle's Narrabeen Motor Service added to his fleet of eight FIATS, of which several certainly were charabancs, with the purchase of a 20/30 FIAT from Garrett's http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article15529814
In late 1921 Bottle included a regular run to Avalon, a feature advertised by the agents in the selling of house blocks at the Palmgrove Estate, Avalon Beach.
Thanks for the mystery photos but no idea The mystery contuse.
Hi everyone
Let us know what you are doing to keep yourself amused during this time when we aren't at liberty to do much of what we would normally do. Judging from the number of people at the local Bunnings store a lot of people are onto DIY projects. I've been doing some painting around the house and lots of mowing but a bigger project at the moment is sorting through 13,000 (yes thirteen thousand) approximately 78 rpm records. My interest is classical singers especially in opera. So some of those will be added to the collection I inherited from Dad - I am redoing the catalog. If anyone wants some 78's to play let me know. I also just got back three re-cored Studebaker radiators which need to be fitted back into their shells. If you can't drive your veteran at least keep the battery charged and check the tyres.

Our first "virtual coffee run" will hopefully kick off around 10:30 am this coming Friday 24th April. Let us know what you are doing to keep yourself occupied as best you can. Looking forward to meeting up with you here then. Doug
