How did you acquire the vehicle?
Purchased this vehicle in 1996 from the estate of Dr. F.C. Archibald in Adelaide South Australia.
Brief known history of the vehicle
The six-cylinder chassis reached Adelaide in July 1910 and was fitted with a local roadster body made by Vivian Lewis. One of the original owners was Otto Breuninger of Dulwich SA. During his ownership the car had very little use and was stored for many years before Dr. Archibald purchased it in 1961. The car was then subject to an extensive mechanical overhaul. The work was worthwhile and since restoration proved to be a lively and extremely reliable performer. I purchased this car from the estate of Mrs. Archibald, who after the death of her husband ten years earlier, refused to sell the car and it was stored on blocks until her death. The family eventually put the car up for sale and I was extremely fortunate to purchase it in 1996.
What do you like & dislike about your car?
Car can cruise at 50-55 mph making it an enjoyable car to drive on rallies. I also like the sporty roadster body making it a very appealing car. Tends to leak a bit of oil, which is normal for these type of cars.
Fun facts or any other details you’d like to include?
